Very nice course. Greens true and undulating. Great views. Course was very quiet in May. Courtesy bus is a money saver if you don't have a car but they time your pickup so you arrive at the corse about 10 mins before your tee time so only a quick practice putt if you're lucky!

Everything was ok, stuff friendly and helpful, only thing is the booking could be mor efficient, 2x4 slow groups in front and a few 2 groups behind them. So we played after the 3rd hole with the 2 in front. There was no marshal on the course. Minus for the Tee positions,, mostly yellow was on blue, and the bunkers were in bad conditions. It was hard rain 4 days ago, but they did not work on the bunkers since there. Greens excellent for this conditions.

The staff was very friendly, and the views were fantastic. However, the golf course was very dry, the greens were ok. The sand bunkers, well, let’s just say there was no sand in them. The layout was funky, and I understand that this is a golf course on the top and side hill of a mountain on an island.

Golf course is absolutely fantastic. Great views, wonderful nature, greens are difficult to reach in regulation ;-). Not 10 points because of not available driving range. The drive ways for the buggy show deep holes and you can not drive at the fairway ´s so using a buggy does not really make sense.

First the positives: nice facilities, warm welcome, not busy (1pm Friday) and amazing views. Not an easy course when you don’t know it, plenty of blind shots and hidden hazards. Not a long course, accuracy pays! Now the not so good stuff: some bare fairways, no sand at all in some bunkers and greens really not up to standard. Shame really, this could be a really great golfing experience.

Great layout which you have to pick your way round. Course guidebook very useful. Greens had been worked on so not at their best but still a very enjoyable and helpful staff.

Der Platz ist sehr abwechslungsreich, Fairways teilweise trocken, durch die Schräglagen ist auch ein guter Schlag nicht immer gut im Ergebnis.
Durch die Höhendifferenz mit Trolley nur bei guter Kondition empfehlenswert.

Very easy checking in and course was very quiet. Course is very hilly and some players may need a buggy to do 18 holes. Tricky layout and need to hit irons off some tees. Greens were undulating and will be easier if you play a few times. Bunkers were not good. Overall interesting course with good layout and great views of Funchal and the sea

Transfers to and from the Golf course were on time and worked well.
The staff at Palheiro were very friendly and helpful.
We had a buggy and were glad we did, some of the hills are very long and steep.
Enjoyed the golf but were unlucky to have a 3 ball ahead all beginners so we were waiting most shots.
The round took 5 hours.

A very good golf course, not easy walking - pull trolleys make no sense so best carry your bag or have a buggy . 75 % of the holes are first class, but there are some weak ones near the derelict prison for instance. All in all a recommendable holiday course.

Very warm welcome and the receptionist was excellent advising us of the buggy deal.
You certainly needed one!
Greens were very good,but fairways needed attention,but to be fair they were hollow tining as we played.

Fantastic staff. Great transfer driver. Everyone was very accommodating.
Great looking golf course with fantastic views and memorable holes. Greens and fairways were below par but very playable. Clubhouse has a great bar with the best views.

Both courses are fantastic , and all staff are very accommodating as we had to swop days of booked golf due to bad weather in santo da Serra. Great holiday and golf , thank you.
